Several years ago I decide to take a sabbatical from my job and travel around the world; it was a dream I’d had for years and it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If traveling the world has been your dream too, set your goal and start planning your trip – the following was my itinerary, but you can also come up with your own; you’ll have an endless amount of choices available to you.
China’s influence has never been more apparent than in Beijing, offering a glimpse into the nation’s extensive history and its accelerated modernization. You’ll find incredibly preserved palaces amid world class stadiums and Beijing is known for legendary historical sites, like the Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Just outside of Beijing is the Great Wall of China, winding its way through the hills north of the city; be ready for a climb because the walkways are steep but well worth tackling. Also worth checking out is the Beijing Zoo and the darling Pandas. The city also offers a wide variety of delicious cuisine in all price points.
Breathing Cape Town, separated from the rest of Africa by a breathtaking ring of mountains, stands as a shining, metropolis that’s blessed with spectacular, natural scenery. Visitors also travel to Cape Town to enjoy the many vineyards, beautiful beaches, tantalizing cuisine, flourishing nightlife, and, last but not least, magnificent Table Mountain that overlooks the city. You can use the cableway to get to the top of the mountain or hike if you’re up for it.
Miami, Florida is all about year round gorgeous tropical weather, pristine, white sandy beaches, alligators, deep sea treasure hunting and endless water sport fun. Miami is made up of several smaller city’s that include Miami Beach (South Beach), where life seems to be one big party from the beaches to the local bars, night clubs and restaurants. One of the most incredible places to dine in the South Beach area is ZUMA Miami, whose cuisine is recognized all over the world for its sophisticated modern Japanese cuisine.
South America’s Rio de Janeiro will take your breath away; this beautiful place’s scenery in unforgettable and includes lush green mountains and rainforest’s, white sandy beaches and striking landmarks like the Christ the Redeemer, a whopping 125 feet tall, that overlooks its beautiful city. The city itself always has something exciting going on including its Carnival and the food is varied and always delicious.
If you’re up for a bit of a travel challenge you’ll be rewarded with Antarctica’s extraordinary scenery and a tremendous amount of wildlife including seabirds seals, penguins, whales and a variety of wildlife you’ve probably never seen before as well, most unafraid of humans. Adventure seekers looking for a thrill will love crossing a typically rough ocean to a remote place where humans are mere visitors.
Paris, France, also known as the City of Light, offers an unforgettable ambiance that’s all about romance, fine dining, vast art collections, historical wonders and unmatched natural beauty. The peaceful River Seine travels through the city, lined on either side by centuries old churches, stately museums, Rococo and Neo classic architecture, all enhanced by avenues lined charming glowing street lamps, and pretty trees.
Nestled along the Seine river are quaint cobbled walks, graceful bridges and iconic historical landmarks that include the Eiffel Tower. You’ll want to spend a lot of time enjoying the French food, fine wine or have a picnic in one of the many parks. While France isn’t the largest country in Europe (the Ukraine is the largest), it is the second largest and offers a wealth of incredible things to do so you might want to plan on spending additional time here.
Sydney, Australia is a world class metropolis offering a dizzying variety of landmarks that include the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the opera house. For the beach lover’s out there Sydney also offers a host of beautiful beaches. The city is also known for its arts and culture venues, national parks, zoos, wildlife and exceptional dining experiences.
